Patricia A Fogarty

Posted

It is with a very heavy heart that we announce the death of Patricia A Fogarty, 83, of Rumford, RI who passed away peacefully on February 19, 2024 surrounded by her family.

Patricia was born on February 6 in Providence, RI. She worked for 26 years at Miriam Hospital and was a very hard worker at other odd jobs throughout her life. Family was everything to her. She was truly born to be a mother; a fierce protector, supporter, counselor, nurse, cheerleader and so much more for all of her family.

In the summer you would likely find her at the beach soaking up the rays in Narragansett where she resided for 25 years and in the winter she was in a weekly bowling league averaging over 100 + per game (no bumpers). She loved her Green Bay Packers wearing head to toe gear and chanting Go Pack Go at every game. She taught us all the importance of accumulating memories over stuff. Everyone she interacted with felt they had a special relationship with her because she made you feel that way and meant it. She was a strong woman of faith and will be terribly missed by all.

Patricia is survived by her children Eugene Fogarty Jr and his wife Maureen of North Providence, RI, Francis Fogarty and his wife Nancy of East Providence, RI, Kellie Fogarty Najas and her husband Steve of East Providence, RI, Timothy Fogarty and his husband David Tomaselli of Falls Church, VA. Her sister Barbara Arrighi and her husband Peter of Lakeville, MN, her brother Dennis Sheridan and wife Susan of Attleboro, MA. Patricia was the proud and loving Meme to 8 grandchildren: Mike (Carolyn), Jeff (Emily), Jill (Nic), Danielle, Ryan (Holly), Carol, Marissa (Anthony) and Kelsey (Louis); and 15 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind nephews, nieces and many friends including close friends Joanie Cripps and Denise Anderson. She is preceded in death by her father James Duffy, mother Corinne (Paquette) Sheridan and sister Carol Ward.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 11:00 AM in St. Margaret's Church, 1098 Pawtucket Avenue, Rumford. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers her family suggests making a donation to St Jude’s or a charity of your choice in Patricia’s honor.
