Osvaldo J. Loura
Osvaldo J. Loura, age 77, of East Providence, RI, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2020, at home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous 16-month battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Maria L. (Goncalo) Loura. Osvaldo was born in Santa Maria, Azores, and emigrated to the United States in 1967 with his wife, Maria. He proudly served the Portuguese Air Force as a Parachuter in the Azores. They were happily married for 53 years. Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving children, Deborah Davignon and her husband Robert R. Davignon of Warwick and Diane Jennings and her partner Robert A. Patenaude of Pawtucket. He was the proud and loving grandfather of Alexandra D. Davignon of Warwick. He is survived by a sister, Rosalina L. Lemos of East Providence. He was the brother of the late Maria Loura, José Loura, Manuel Loura and Antonio Loura. He was employed at Davol, Inc. in Cranston for 14 years and Bradley Hospital in Riverside for 26 years as a Housekeeper Supervisor. Osvaldo’s greatest pleasure came from spending time with his wife and family and his joy of fishing and traveling.
His funeral will be held on Monday, February 3, 2020, at 8:00 A.M. from the Perry-McStay Funeral Home, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in Sacred Heart Church, Taunton Avenue. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday from 8 AM-10 AM.
