Nancy Pope Harris

Nancy Pope Harris, 92, of Riverside, RI, passed away peacefully October7, 2020 at home surrounded by her family.

Born in Providence, RI, on February 29, 1928, she was the daughter of the late William and Florence Allison.

Nancy graduated from East Providence High School and attended Hampton Institute. From her marriage in 1950, she gave birth to four children. After becoming a single mother in the 1960’s, she went to work for New England Telephone as a telephone operator. She was promoted to supervisor then to manager. After retiring in 1990, “Nannie” spent her winters in Florida with her son Gary and partner Al. She enjoyed knitting, reading, being outside on the deck and visits from the grandkids.

Nancy is survived by her daughter Yvonne Hollvey and son-in-law Eugene, sons Henry, Leon and Gary Harris. She was also survived by granddaughters Erica(Raymond) and Julia Harris, great-granddaughter Shaylene Harris, great-great granddaughters Allyson Harris and Mackenzie Bonhomme and great-great grandson Zayden Bonhomme. She also leaves her brother William Allison and sister-in-law Ann Allison, along with many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was the grandmother of the late Matthew Harris.

Thank you Nannie for all that you have done for us in life. You will be missed.
