Mr. Paul E. Lemont, Esq., of East Providence, Rhode Island, born on October 1, 1940 in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, to the late Ruth (Barth) and Harold E., passed away at age 77 on May 20, 2018 in Providence, Rhode Island. He graduated from Southern New England School of Law, earned a MBA from Bryant University, and a B.S. from The University of Rhode Island. From 1963 to 1965, Paul served in the Army. He also served in the Army National Guard from 1966 to 1971. Paul was married to Meredith Kathryn (Turk). He was preceded in death by his brother, Harold Jr. Paul is survived by his sons, John (Sheila) and David (Karen); and sister, Marsha. He also leaves behind his greatly loved dog, Trooper. Paul was an avid fisherman and hunter. Paul was the past City Manager of East Providence, RI, Town Manager of Seekonk, MA, and Vice President of Industrial Relations at Providence Gas. Paul was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. Paul is a recipient of the US Army Field Artillery Saint Barbara’s medal. He was a board member of CRMC, Squantum Association, Narragansett Bay Commission, Providence Marine Corps of Artillery, Delta Dental, Interlocal Trust, Benefit Street Armory, and Chairman of the Board for The Donnelly Center. Paul was a member of the 100 Club of Rhode Island and The Victorian Military Society. Our memories of Paul will forever live in our hearts. His burial with Military Honors will be held Thursday, May 24, 2018 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel at Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter, RI.
