Mary Anne Cook

Mary Anne Cook, 81, of Rumford, passed away Friday September 28, 2018 at the Miriam Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Kenneth L. Cook to whom she was married for 58 years. Born in Fall River, MA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Frances (Gutowski) Coury. Mrs. Cook attended Bay View Academy and was a graduate of Warren High School. She worked for American Universal Insurance Company where she met her husband Kenneth, and later worked as a Secretary for the East Providence School Department before retiring. She was a former member of the Rumford Juniors Women’s Club and a former member of the Wannamoisett Country Club. She enjoyed reading, gardening, cooking and tennis. Her family was her life. She leaves one daughter, Kathleen A. Cook Pierard and her husband Aaron of Rumford, one son, Kenneth B. Cook and his wife Barbara of Riverside and her grandson, Michael Pierard of Boston, who was the light of her life. Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 9:00 AM from the Perry-McStay Funeral Home, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Loreto Church, Waterman Avenue.
