Maria T. Barbosa, “Delfina” age 99, died January 17, 2018 at the Evergreen House with her daughter by her side. She was the wife of the late Manuel M. Barbosa. Born in Fall River, MA, she was a daughter of the late Julio Furtado Taveira and Maria Conceicao (Sousa) Taveira.
She had worked as an assembler for Davol Company.
She is survived by her beloved daughter Mary DeMedeiros of East Providence, 2 grandsons Steven DeMedeiros of Foster and Jeffrey DeMedeiros of White Plains, NY. She was predeceased by her brothers, Joao Taveira and Manuel Taveira.
Her funeral will begin on Tuesday at 8am from the Rebello Funeral Home and Crematory, 901 Broadway, East Providence, RI. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 9am in Sacred Heart Church, 118 Taunton Ave., East Providence. Burial will be at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Monday from 5-8pm.
