Maria "Rose" Valente

Maria "Rose" Valente, 51, of Second St., East Providence, passed away with her family by her side at home early Wednesday morning, May 3, 2017. She was the beloved wife of Arthur M. Valente.

Born June 3, 1965, in Benifica, Lisbon, Portugal, she was a daughter of Alvaro and Georgette (Guerra) DaSilva of Palm Coast, FL.

Rose was a certified professional coder at the RI Hospital where she worked for 30 years.

In addition to parents and her husband of 33 years, she leaves her daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Gary Cabral of No. Providence; her cherished grandsons, Nico Valentino Cabral and Damien Lucas Cabral; and her sisters, Jean (Gaston) Fune of Davie, FL, and Dianna Rimoshytus of Warren. She was also the sister-in-law of Dionisio (Isabel) Valente, Carlos (Maria) Valente, Andre (Lisa) Valente, Manuela (Victor) Rosa, and Armando Valente; and also leaves 9 nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will begin Monday, May 8, at 8:45am from the Rebello Funeral Home and Crematory, 901 Broadway, East Providence, with a funeral service following at 10am at the Faith Christian Center, 95 Sagamore Rd., Seekonk. Burial will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday, May 7, 4pm until 8pm.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up in memory of Rose for cancer research.
