Maria Luisa Marques

Maria Luisa Marques, 85, of Mauran Ave., East Providence died November 14, 2020 at home with her loving family by her side. Born on October 16, 1935 in Lomba do Cavaleiro, Povoacao, Sao Miguel, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Manuel A. and Cecilia (Raposo) Marques.

Luisa’s life was exemplified by her faith, kindness, thoughtfulness and love. She had a devotion to the Blessed Mother and was a member of The Legion of Mary at St. Francis Xavier Church. She had worked as a soldered for Coro Jewelry and retired in 1997.

She is survived by her siblings; John Marques and wife Leonor and Henry Marques and wife Diane all of Johnston. Known as “Tia” to her nieces, Christine, Kathryn, Angela and nephew Christopher, 3 great nephews and 1 great niece. She was predeceased by her sister Maria Cecilia Marques-Carreiro.

The family will receive relatives and friend on Friday (11/20) from 9-10AM in St. Francis Xavier Church, N. Carpenter St. East Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM. Burial will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
