Louis Zito

Louis Zito, age 95, of Irving Ave, East Providence, died April 2, 2019 at Linn Health Care with his loving family by his side. He was the husband of the late Marie F. (Procopio) Zito. Louis was born in East Providence, a son of the late Joseph Zito and the late Luizia (Barbuscio) Zito.

Louis was a WWII Veteran and proudly served our country with the US Army. Louis worked as a dispatcher for the East Providence Fire Department for 31 years, retiring in 1984. He was past president for the East Providence Fire Department Beneficial Association; and past president of Local 850 IAF, AFL-CIO. He was past treasurer of East Providence Police and Fire Retirees. He was chairman of the East Providence Municipal Employees Blood Donor Program.

Louis is survived by his children Lois A. Chapman (late Everett) of Barrington, Donna M. Keeney (Jeffrey) of Seekonk, Joseph L. Zito (Darlene) of Attleboro, his two grandchildren Aaron Daniel and David Daniel. He was the brother of Julia Tamburrino and Dominic Zito both of East Providence. He was predeceased by his siblings Mary Curti and Joseph Zito.

His funeral will begin on Saturday at 9am from the Rebello Funeral Home and Crematory, 901 Broadway, East Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Our Lady of Loreto Church, 346 Waterman Ave. East Providence. Burial with Military Honors will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours will be on SATURDAY MORNING from 8-9am.
