Posted

On Sunday, April 14th, local resident, Shawn Schaad of Riverside, broke the lake record during the 7th Annual South County Spring Fishing Tournament. The new record is now set at a total of 291.25 inches, smashing the previous record, set last year, at 234 inches. Runners up for the tournament include Reginald Mccarthy in second place with 270 inches and David Plottner in third place with 218 inches. Even with the experience of these veteran fishermen, local resident, Ronald Lawson, still measured a respectful 49 inches.

When asked what Shawn used to catch the fish, he simply replied, “Experience.”

The biggest Large Mouth Bass was caught by David Plottner weighing 5 ½ pounds. The largest Pike was caught by Reginald Mccarthy measuring 23 1/2 inches.

Upon speaking to Mr. Schaad about his incredible victory, he humbly stated that he is not comfortable being referred to as the “GOAT.”

All participating competitors are looking forward to the Fall 2019 Tournament.
