Linda A. Whelan (Cornish)

Linda A. Whelan (Cornish) 89 of Riverside, RI passed away on December 12, 2020. She was the wife of the late John (Mike) M. Whelan. Born in Lynn, MA. she was the daughter of George and Hazel (Watson) Cornish.

Linda worked as an Optometrist Assistant at Vision Care Center in East Providence, RI before retiring. She was Co-Founder of St. Mark's Nursery School, Past Vestry member at St. Matthew Church, Barrington, RI, a Charter member of Riverside Junior Women’s Club. She also loved knitting and was an avid reader.

Linda is survived by two sons, John (Jack) J. Whelan and his wife Marie of East Providence, RI and Andrew (Andy) Whelan of Windham, ME. She also leaves Grand-Children Kristen, her significant other, Christopher Gannon, Craig and his significant other, Anissa Mejia, and her 2 Great-Grand Children, Isabel and Jordan. She also leaves behind her loving dog, “Dinah”.

She is survived by 1 sister Donna Metafora & her husband Bob. She was sister to the late Doris Patriquin & Vivian Ruel.
