Lillian A. (Burkhardt) Gill

Lillian A. (Burkhardt) Gill, 101, of Rumford, passed away peacefully on Jan. 19, 2018 at Waterview Villa Nursing Home. She was born on Sept. 23, 1916 in Providence to the late William and Rosella (Spellman) Burkhardt and grew up in Milford, MA. She met and married her husband, the late John Gill, Sr., when she returned to reside in RI. She worked for many years as an assistant buyer at the Outlet Department Store. She is survived by her daughters, Maureen Duncan (James) of Southington, CT., Nancy Jennings (David) of Seekonk, MA and Debra McKeon (John) of Torrington, CT. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by her son, John Gill, Jr., a grandson, Glenn Duncan, her brother, William Burkhardt and two sisters, Vivian Ullrich and Dorothy McMehan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Jan. 27th at 10am in St. Margaret’s Church, 1098 Pawtucket Ave., Rumford, RI. Burial will follow at Mt. St. Mary’s Cemetery, 661 Prospect St. Pawtucket, RI. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 245 Waterman St., Providence, RI.
