Kevin J. Oliveira

Kevin J. Oliveira, 55, of East Providence, formerly of Atlanta, GA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at home on Sunday, March 17, 2019.

Born in Providence, he was a son of Carolina R. (Tavares) Oliveira and the late Kenneth W. Oliveira, Sr.

Kevin earned a Masters in Arts Teaching degree from Brown University in which he was extremely proud of. He was a high school teacher and taught at Clark University in Atlanta, GA. Kevin was a man of faith with a strong bond with his church community of the New Covenant Christian Ministries in Lithonia, GA. His talent and acting abilities made him an active member of the performing arts community in which he performed in venues like the Green Room Actor’s Lounge in Atlanta, GA. His larger than life personality brightened any stage or room he entered. Kevin will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Besides his mother, he leaves five daughters, Kristen Woodward of Fredericksburg, VA, Lenae Benjamin, Lindsay Oliveira, Lorelle Oliveira and Leilani Oliveira all of Decatur, GA, his wife Rose Mary Oliveira of Atlanta, GA. Kevin also leaves a sister, Dr. Karoline Oliveira of Kennesaw, GA, three brothers, Abdur Rahman Muhammed of Washington, DC, Keith Oliveira of Providence, Kristopher Oliveira of East Providence and five grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Kimberly Oliveira.

His funeral service will be held on Friday, March 22, 2019 at 10:00 AM in the MT. Hope Community Baptist Church, 734 Hope St., Providence. Calling hours will be, Thursday 4-8 PM . in the MT. Hope Community Baptist Church. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions to ALS Association Rhode Island Chapter, 2374 Post Road #103, Warwick, RI 02886.
