Joyce T. (Siegl) Proulx 84, of East Providence passed away comfortably in her home surrounded by loved ones on Thursday April 19th. Joyce fought a valiant battle against metastatic lung cancer and now has found peace. Joyce served many roles over the years including office manager, crossing guard, hospital volunteer, home maker and matriarch extraordinaire. Joyce was born on November 24, 1933 in Providence, Rhode Island. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Hilda (Law) Siegl. She is survived by her husband Roger, her children Kathy Delucia and husband Alfredo, Patty Brown and husband Alan, Michael Tracey and wife Jan, as well as her step-children Carmen Steinbrecher and husband Les, Suzanne Silver and husband Gordon and Steven Proulx. Along with being a devoted mother, she was the world's most convivial grandmother. She is survived by 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, all of who adored her. Joyce will be remembered for her contagious smile, her sage advice, her warm heart and generous spirit. She loved unconditionally, was open-minded and accepting of others. Her wit is a quality to which most could only aspire. Though her most beautiful attribute was her rare ability to balance sass and class. She was our family's rock, a testament to feminism and an eternal source of positive energy. Her zest for life has been nothing short of inspirational. She will be sadly missed beyond measure.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday April 24th from 4:00-7:00pm in The Butterfield Chapel 500 Pontiac Avenue Cranston. A private funeral service and burial will be held in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery Exeter. In lieu of flowers Joyce would like donations to be made to St. Jude's Hospital.
