Joseph F. Andrews, 90, a lifelong resident of East Providence, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2017. He was son of the late Joseph F. and Mary (Lema) Andrews, the husband of the late Rita (Alexander) Andrews, and stepfather of the late Christine Watkins.

Joseph was a proud WWII veteran serving with the Navy Seabees during the Okinawa Campaign. He was an electrician for over 65 years and volunteered his time as an electrician at the Seabee Museum in Davisville. He was a wonderful brother, grandfather, uncle and friend who will be missed dearly.

He leaves two granddaughters, Stacey B. Prata of Coventry and Jamie K. Prata-Gomes (Adam) of East Freetown, MA; one brother, George Andrews of Norwich, CT; 5 nieces and 3 nephews.

He was also the brother of the late Mary Ferreira, John Rezendes, Florence McWeeney, James Andrews and Albert Andrews.

His funeral will begin Friday, June 2, at 8am from the Rebello Funeral Home and Crematory, 901 Broadway, East Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9am in St. Francis Xavier Church, No. Carpenter St., East Providence. Military honors and burial will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday, 4pm until 7pm.
