Joseph A. Cruz, 84, of Orlo Avenue, passed away Monday January 15, 2018 at the Evergreen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of Anna (Duarte) Cruz. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Antonio and Geneva (Santos) Cruz. Mr. Cruz was a custodian for Bryant College before retiring. He was a Member of the Fox Point Boys Club Alumni. Besides his wife he leaves two daughters, Joyce Peno of Providence and Nancy Cruz-Daponte of East Providence, four sons, Joseph Dean and Alvin Wyatt Dean both of New Jersey, Brian Cruz of Washington and Paul Cruz of Florida, nineteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Manuel Cruz. His funeral will be held on Saturday January 19, 2018 at 9:00 AM from the Perry-McStay Funeral Home, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Loreto Church, Taunton Avenue.
