Jose T. “Franklin” Brum

Jose T. “Franklin” Brum, 95, of Hazelwood Avenue passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center. He was the husband of Maria daConceicao (Silva) Brum and the late Flora (daSilva) Brum.

Born in Rabo de Peixe, Sao Miguel, Azores he was a son of the late Franklin T. and Eugenia (Rebelo) Brum. Mr. Brum was a self-employed landscaper for many years before he retired. After his retirement he worked part time as a sexton at Newman Congregational Church. He was a devoted communicant of St. Francis Xavier Church.

Besides his wife he leaves one daughter, Theresa Botelho and her husband Joseph, one son, Joseph F. Brum and his wife Theresa all of East Providence, seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Laura Silva, Claurencio Brum, Odilia Gouveia, Lidia Soares and Evarista Serrador.

His funeral will be held on Monday, June 4, 2018 at 9:00 AM from the Perry-McStay Funeral Home, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Francis Xavier Church, North Carpenter Street. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours Sunday 5-8.
