Joan Anderson

Joan Anderson, 82, of East Providence passed away Thursday, May 3, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. She was the longtime companion of the late Joseph Ruggerio. Born in Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late Harold Bartelson and Gertrude (Jackson) Edson. Mrs. Anderson was a bookkeeper for Purington building systems of East Providence before retiring. She leaves behind a son, Karl Anderson and his wife Betsy of Cumberland, and a daughter, Kristen McVay and her husband Paul of Riverside, seven grandchildren, Katie Tomlinson, Amy Anderson, Kayla Lewis, Jeffery Anderson, Jason McVay, Robert McVay, Thomas McVay and eight great grandchildren. Her funeral and visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 from 4:00PM-6:00 PM in the Perry-McStay Funeral Home, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a service to follow at 6: 00 PM. Burial will be private.
