Jane da Cunha (Tierney) Rego, age 102, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Elderwood at Riverside. She was the wife of the late Dr. Rodrigo da Cunha Rego.

Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Richard and Jane (Thompson) Tierney, she lived in Bristol, RI and Rumford for many years before moving to East Providence in 1983.

A graduate of B. M.C. Durfee High School, Class of 1932, she also graduated from Katherine Gibbs Business School. In addition to being a homemaker, she was an active volunteer for many organization including; the East Providence Public Library, Pawtucket Memorial Hospital, the former Sophia Little Home and the Community Workshop of Rhode Island.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews including Edna RePass of Renton, WA, many cousins including J. Thomas Cottrell and his wife Margot of Swansea and her caregiver, Esther Samuel.

Memorial donations may be made in her honor to Roger William Park Zoo or to the Fall River Historical Society.
