Harold J. Bovi Jr., 75, of East Providence passed unexpectedly on Friday, April 20, 2018. He was the husband of Karen (Gillooly) Bovi to whom he was married for 54 years. Born in Boston,MA, he was a son of the late Harold J. and Mabel (Burns) Bovi, Sr. Harold was a professional trumpet player in the late 50’s and was the proprietor of Rainbow records in downtown Providence for 20 years. He was the owner of G. Flaggs night club in Riverside before retiring. Harold enjoyed playing jazz and loved spending time on the water sailing. Besides his wife he leaves one daughter, Robin Bovi of East Providence; one sister Doris Geleney of Westerly; two nieces and one nephew. His funeral and visitation will be held on Friday April 27, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the Perry-McStay Funeral Home, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence, with a service to follow at 1:00 PM.
