Gino A. DeVecchis

Gino A. DeVecchis, 84, of East Providence, passed away Thursday, March 1, 2018 at home. He was the husband of the late Josephine (Iapaolo) DeVecchis. Born in Capistrello, Italy, he was the son of the late Gennaro and Domenica (Croce) DeVecchis.

Mr. DeVecchis was the owner of Gino’s Auto Body and was an assembly mechanic for BIF Industries. He also worked at the Providence School Department in the maintenance department and was Past President of the Young Italian Imperial Club in Providence.

He is survived by his daughter, Gina M. DeVecchis; a son, Anthony M. DeVecchis; his granddaughter, Amanda G. DeVecchis; and three brothers, Aleandro, Olivio and Tiziano DeVecchis. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Florenza DeVecchis and many nephews and nieces. He was the father-in-law of the late Nimfa DeVecchis and was the brother of the late Ines Tomei, Virgilio, Leonida "Leo", Marcello and Angela DeVecchis.

His funeral will be held Monday, March 5, 2018 at 8:30 a.m. from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, 92 Hope St., Providence. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence.
