Frederick P. “Freddie” Conaty

Frederick P. “Freddie” Conaty, 72, of Pawtucket Avenue, passed away on January 5, 2018 at the Vibra Hospital, New Bedford, MA. He was the beloved husband of Kathleen (Souther) Conaty.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Joseph and Eugenia (Roy) Conaty, he was a lifelong resident of Riverside.

Mr. Conaty was a CNA in the Jane Brown Unit at Rhode Island Hospital for 19 years before retiring in 2015.

Fred was a former Riverside Little League coach. A classic car enthusiast, he was a NASCAR fan and enjoyed spending time at the Seekonk Speedway races with his grandchildren and family.

Mr. Conaty was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and friend to many.

Besides his wife of 47 years, he is survived by a daughter, Cara B. Conaty and her husband Mark Lucchetti of Narragansett; a son, Patrick F. Conaty and his wife Colleen of Riverside; two brothers, Joseph T. Conaty of Riverside and John M. Conaty of Barrington; a sister, Anne E. Conaty of Riverside and two grandchildren, Kael M. Conaty and Braeden P. Conaty.

His funeral will be held on Thursday January 11, 2018 from the W. Raymond Watson Funeral Home, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:45 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside at 10 a.m. Calling hours are Wednesday 4-8 p.m.
