Frederick J. Peterson, 91, of Riverside House, Willett Avenue, Riverside, died peacefully on February 8, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.

A lifelong resident of Riverside, he was the son of the late Sigurd T. and Mary Jane (O’Shea) Peterson.

Mr. Peterson was a serviceman for the Rochester Midland Co. for 27 years before retiring in 1988.

Frederick was a communicant of St. Brendan Church. He was a member of the Riverside American Legion Post #10 and the Riverside Bishop Hickey Knights of Columbus.

Mr. Peterson was a United States Navy Veteran serving during World War II and the Korean War.

He is survived by his children, Denise M. Betz of Portsmouth, Edward J. Peterson of Denver, CO, Daniel J. Peterson of Riverside, Renee L. Lorince of East Providence, Frederick J. Peterson Jr. of Salem, OR and Lauren E. Peterson of Zephyrhills, FL; ten grandchildren; three great grandchildren and a companion, Nikki Macedo of Riverside. He was the brother of the late Edward, Jack and Sookey Peterson and Jean Andreozzi.

His funeral will be held on Friday February 16, 2018 from the W. . Raymond Watson Funeral Home, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:45 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside at 10 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
