Franklin C. Galego, Sr., age 79, of N. Prospect St., died June 10, 2018 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center with his loving family by his side.

He was the husband of the late Shirley (Smith) Galego. He was born in Pawtucket, on May 12, 1939, the son of the late Frank C. and Albertina (Jordao) Galego.

Frank was a truck driver for the T.H. Baylis Company of Warwick for 11 years and the George Mann Company of Providence for 12 years, retiring in 2001.

He was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 251. He was a veteran and proudly served our country with the US Navy.

He was a member of the East Providence Senior Center, enjoyed traveling, playing golf and was an avid Red Sox Fan.

He is survived by his daughters, Deborah Andreozzi of East Providence, Sylvia Frazier of Winter Springs, FL, Tracey Blackledge of Cranston, his sons, Franklin C. Galego, Jr., of Douglas, MA, Dale Galego and his wife Susan of East Providence, Timothy Galego and his wife Kathy of Johnston, 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, and his companion Helen Cook.

His funeral will begin on Friday at 8am from the Rebello Funeral Home and Crematory, 901 Broadway, East Providence, followed by A Mass of Christian Burial at 9am in St. Francis Xavier Church, N. Carpenter St., East Providence. Burial with Military Honors will be held at Mt. St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket.
