Eveline A. (Viens) Cooke, 84, of South Phillips Street, died peacefully on January 24, 2018. She was the wife of the late John C. Cooke.

Born in Fall River, MA, a daughter of the late Omar and Rose (Gagnon) Viens, she lived in East Providence for 75 years.

Mrs. Cooke was a banker for the former People’s Bank for 15 years before retiring in 1979.

Eveline was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, her pets and spending time with her loving family.

She is survived by a son, John E. Cooke and his wife Katy of Riverside; 3 granddaughters, Julie Dutra of East Providence, Victoria Pennacchia and Courtney Cooke of East Providence; 3 great grandchildren, Christopher and Joshua Viveiros and Noelle Pennacchia and a great great-grandson, Travis Vivieiros. She was the mother of the late Cathleen A. Cooke and sister of the late Bertha Viens and Sister Vivienne Viens.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday January 27, 2018 from the W. Raymond Watson Funeral Home, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 9:15 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Heart Church, 118 Taunton Avenue, East Providence at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours are Saturday morning 9:15-10:15 a.m. Flowers are respectfully omitted.
