Ernest “Jack” Wilson, Jr., 73, of Riverside, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Dorothy (Hunt) Wilson.

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Ernest J. and Gertrude (Glynn) Wilson. Jack was a contract negotiator for the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport before he retired. Prior to that position he was a teacher at the Bishop McVinney Grammar School in Providence. He was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. Jack and his wife Dot also lived at The Villages in Florida for 14 years before recently returning to RI. Jack belonged to the Rhode Island Club at The Villages and the American Legion. He was a Little League coach in Riverside for many years and also coached youth ice hockey.

Besides his wife he leaves three children, Jeffrey M. Wilson and his wife Andrea of Cranston, Keith A. Wilson and his wife Melanie of Richmond and Karen E. Miguel of Riverside, four grandchildren, Jaimin, Caden, Caitlin and Keirra, and two sisters, Shirley Travers and Eileen Schanck. He also leaves his favorite dog, Bandit. He was the brother of the late Fred Wilson, Carol Gallo and Pat Wilson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 27, 2020 at 10:00 AM in St. Brendan’s Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside. Burial with Military Honors will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123 would be appreciated.
