Elizabeth L. Farrell, of East Providence, R.I. passed away on June 13, 2019, in Jupiter, Florida. She was 75 years old. Born in Providence, she was the eldest daughter of the late Francis X. Farrell and Mary E. Hynes. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s of the Visitation, and was also the first daughter of an alumnus to graduate from Providence College. After receiving her master’s in Education, she spent much of her career sharing her knowledge and guidance with many students as a teacher and counselor for East Providence Schools, and served also as principal for St. John the Baptist in West Warwick. Elizabeth was known as ‘Betty’ to many of her friends with whom she enjoyed traveling, creating art, golfing, bowling, and shopping. She loved her home in Rumford, was a devout Catholic, and coordinated the annual alumni luncheon event for St. Marys’ for years. She was predeceased by her parents, Mary and Frank Farrell, and dear niece Theresa Bechaz-Ardente. She is survived by her three sisters, Valerie Prosser, Frances Farrell, and Rosemary Shaw, and also her niece and nephew, Haley Shaw-Green and Tyler Shaw. She also leaves behind a host of dear friends, especially Joan Costantino, and many more in Vero Beach and East Providence.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Friday July 12, 2019 at 10:00 am in St. Pius V Catholic Church, 55 Elmhurst Avenue, Providence. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.
