Edward L. Cabral Sr.

Edward L. Cabral Sr., 85, of Harbor View Manor Apartments., Riverside, passed away early Saturday morning, June 24, 2017. He was the husband of the late Anna Julia (Lamilin) Cabral.

Born May 14, 1932, in East Providence, he was a son of the late Joseph and Maria Luisa Cabral.

Ed had served as Commissioner of the Boy Scouts of America, was Past Director of Big Brothers of RI, was Past President of the Prince Henry Club of RI, Past Chairman of the East Providence Republican City Committee, Past President of the Providence/Attleboro American Electroplaters Society, a member of the Manufacturers Jewelers Assn of RI, Past President of the Brightridge Club, and Past Director of Florida BPOE Lodge #2463.

He leaves his children, Kenneth Cabral and his wife Susana, Edward L. Cabral Jr. and his wife Melissa, Nancy Lavik and her husband Lawrence, and Debra Cabral; 7 grandchildren, Ashley, Nicholas, Alyson, Kenneth, Adam, Eric, and Andrew; and 2 great grandsons, Chase and Bryce.

He was also the brother of Helen Montecalvo, and the late Manuel and Joseph Cabral.

His funeral will begin Friday, June 30, at 7:45am from the Rebello Funeral Home and Crematory, 901 Broadway, East Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9am in St. Brendan's Church, Turner Ave., Riverside. Burial will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday, 5pm until 8pm.
