Franklin, MA (April 14, 2022) – East Providence resident Jimmy Munro has been selected to speak on behalf of the Class of 2022 at Dean College’s 156th Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, May 7, 2022, in Franklin, MA.
Munro is a first-generation college student earning a bachelor’s degree in sport management. While at Dean College, Munro has been actively involved in a number of campus activities and leadership positions, including three years as a new student orientation leader. He has also held roles as a community advisor, Phonathon supervisor, softball team manager and recreational and intramural department intern, as well as a member of the baseball team. Additionally, Munro was named to the Dean’s List on three occasions.

Munro is most grateful for the leadership opportunities he’s had and the ability to make connections with other students through these roles. “Being a new student orientation leader has had the biggest impact on me at Dean,” he said. “Being a student leader that other students are comfortable approaching with any questions or concerns has put me in such a unique position that I wouldn’t trade for the world.”

After graduation, Munro plans to pursue a master’s degree in sport leadership at Endicott College and hopes to pursue sport event management as a career.

Dean College’s 156th Commencement Exercises celebrating the Class of 2022 will take place on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Dean College, 99 Main Street, Franklin, MA. The ceremony will begin at 11:00 a.m. on the front lawn of Dean Hall. For more information, visit www.dean.edu/commencement
