Dorothy I. Wertz

Dorothy I. Wertz, 87, of Riverside, RI passed away peacefully on Tuesday March 21, 2017. She was the wife of the late Robert F. Wertz and daughter to the late George and Antonina Babbitt (Boldyga).

She was a devoted mother who loved her family deeply. Dorothy was a member of the American Legion Post 10 Auxiliary, Riverside Congregational Church, and The Barron’s Club. Besides being involved in multiple organizations she was an avid crafter and enjoyed playing bingo and cards.

She leaves behind three children, two daughters Gail Erdie (Jack) from New Paltz, NY, and Terrie Gregory (Jack) from Coventry, RI, and one son Robert M. Wertz (Rafael Cardona) from Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Dorothy also leaves three grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday March 28th, 2017 at 11:00 AM in Smith-Mason Funeral Home, 398 Willett Avenue, Riverside, RI 02915. Calling hours will be one hour prior to the service at 10:00 AM on Tuesday March 28th.Burial will follow at Little Neck Cemetery, Riverside, RI. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Hope Hospice Providence, RI or Riverside Congregational Church.
