Dorothy E. Filkins, 94, of E. Providence and formerly of Falmouth, died on Friday, August 3, 2018 after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Roy B. Filkins, Sr.

She was born in Wareham MA to Manuel and Mary (Lopes) Rezendes. She was a graduate of Lawrence HS in 1943. She was a US Army WAC Cpl during WWII.

Dorothy worked as a nurse’s aide at the Falmouth Nursing Home and retired in 1988. She enjoyed cooking, collecting recipes and was a faithful Jehovah’s Witness. She was a joy to her family.

She is survived by her sons Roy B. Filkins, Jr., of Brockton and Ronald J. Filkins and his wife Valerie of E. Providence RI; and her sisters Josephine Gonsalves, Elvira Corey, and Mary Barrows, all of Falmouth. She also leaves 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

At her request, a memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on September 1 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness, 1255 Sandwich Road East Falmouth, MA.
