Carlos Furtado, 59, passed away Saturday September 2, 2017 at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of Maria C. (DeSousa) Furtado to whom he was married for 37 years. Born in Villa Franca, Sao Miguel, Azores he was a son of the late Daniel M. and Emerenciana (Simas) Furtado. Carlos was a machine operator for Umicore Precious Metals USA Inc. He enjoyed all traditional holidays and especially loved spending time in New Hampshire on Columbus Day weekend with his family. He was proud of being the family handyman and was an avid Patriots and Red Sox Fan. Carlos was a father to one but a dad to many. Besides his wife he leaves one son, Jason C. Furtado, two brothers, John Furtado and his wife Susana, Jaime Furtado and many nieces and nephews. His funeral will be held on Saturday Sept 9, 2017 at 9:00 AM from the Perry-McStay Funeral Home, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 21Traverse Street, Providence.
