Candace L. Salvo, 67, passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2018 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center.

Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Muriel (Lawson) Almeida. Candace was a Crisis Clinician at Caritas Norwood Hospital before retiring. She obtained her Master’s Degree in Counseling from Rhode Island College. Candace lived by the motto, “Take one, and give two back,” and she will be remembered as someone who was always there for people and would do whatever she could to help others. She was a strong advocate for people who were struggling and less fortunate, especially children. Children had a special place in her heart and she always put them first. She was also an avid animal lover and enjoyed writing poetry and gardening.

She leaves three children, Sam Salvo and his wife Jenni of Seekonk, Andrea Salvo of Barrington, and Leo San Souci of Seekonk, whom she considered her own, one grandson, Julian Davila, three sisters, Carol-Ann Blackwood of Harrisville, Marcia Almeida of Riverside, Meledy Harris of East Providence and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 4, 2018 at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart Church, Taunton Avenue, East Providence. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
