Antonio C. Melo, age 90, of Summit St., died June 4, 2017 at home with his loving family by his side. He was the husband of the late Maria Adelaide (da Ponte) Melo. Born in Almagreira, Santa Maria, Azores, he was a son of the late Jose and Luisa (Melo) deMelo.

He worked as a machine operator for American Insulated Wire.

He is survived by 7 children; Joseph Melo and wife Lucy of Bristol, Alva Digranes and husband Jon of FL, John Melo and wife Maria of Rehoboth, Anthony Melo and wife Lucy of Bristol, Zelia Duval and husband Chris of Ohio, Frank Melo of East Providence, Steven Melo and wife Maura of Swansea, 15 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Maria Morais.

His funeral will begin on Saturday at 8am from the Rebello Funeral Home and Crematory, 901 Broadway, East Providence, RI. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 9am in St. Francis Xavier Church, N. Carpenter St., East Providence, RI. Burial will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Friday from 5-8pm.
