Mary R. Pereira, 95, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2017 at Elderwood of Riverside. She was the wife of the late George A. Pereira. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Francisco and Maria (Cabral) Gonsalves. Mrs. Pereira worked in the housekeeping industry for many years before she retired. She leaves two sons, Dr. George J. Pereira, M.D. and Joseph R. Pereira, three grandchildren, Daniel Rocha, Tracey Rocha Phelon and Cory Rocha, two great grandchildren, Owen and Cyrus Phelon and one son in law, Daniel Rocha. She was the mother of the late Rosemary Rocha and sister of the late Fannie Cabral, John “Sam” Correia and Joseph Correia. Her funeral and visitation will be held on Saturday at 8:00 AM from the Perry-McStay Funeral Home, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Francis Xavier Church, North Carpenter Street.
