Marjorie (McElroy) Meunier

Marjorie (McElroy) Meunier, 93, of Rumford passed away Wednesday February 22, 2017 at Hattie Ide Chaffee Nursing Home. Born in East Providence, she was a daughter of the late William J and Gladys R. (McConnell) McElroy. Marjorie was the Food Service Manager for the East Providence Senior Center, and previously for Self Help. She was a member and past treasurer of the Rumford Towers Tenants Association. She also managed the Hi Lo Jack League, and was a volunteer bingo worker for Rumford Towers. She is survived by six daughters, Kathleen Thurber of Rumford, Donna Poole of Rehoboth, Linda Grinnings of Riverside, Denise Poole of Port St. Lucie, FL, Rebecca Creelman of Rumford, Kimberly George of Riverside, five sisters, Catherine McKenna of Rumford, Mae Richardson of East Providence, Virginia Rogers of Riverside, Joan Paone of Cranston, Nancy Grant of FL, five brothers, Robert McElroy of FL, Thomas McElroy of FL, Daniel McElroy of WV, Edward McElroy of Warwick, Stephen McElroy of Rumford, eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late William and James McElroy, Gladys Souza, and Arlene Thurber. Her visitation will be held on Saturday February 25, 2017 from 2-4 PM in the Perry-McStay Funeral Home, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a service to follow at 4:00 PM. Burial will be private. Please omit flowers.
