John P. Simbron
John P. Simbron, 87, of Brookhaven Dr., East Providence, passed away peacefully with his family at his side, Thursday, Feb. 2, 2017. He was the beloved husband of the late Yvonne (Gaumond) Simbron.
Born Dec. 27, 1929, in East Providence, he was a son of the late Joseph and Evangelina (Bernardo) Simbron.
John was a faithful communicant of St. Francis Xavier Church, a member of the East Providence Council Knights of Columbus, and of the Drifters Classic Car Club of RI. He was the owner/operator of the former Simbron Arco service station on Taunton Ave., East Providence. He was an auto mechanic for many area car dealerships, including Steingold-Fiore Pontiac and Gordon Chevrolet.
He leaves his son, Jerald Simbron and his wife Ann of Greenville; his daughter, Lynn Joy and her husband Peter of East Providence; three grandsons, Peter, Thomas and Jesse; and his great grandson, Aiden. He was also the brother of Florence Carey of Riverside, Sarah Ledo of Riverside, Dennis A. Simbron of East Providence, and of the late Delores Vierra.
His funeral will begin Tuesday, Feb. 7, at 9am from the Rebello Funeral Home and Crematory, 901 Broadway, East Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Francis Xavier Church, No. Carpenter St., East Providence. Burial will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday, 4pm until 8pm.
