Barbara T. (Murphy) Cronan

Barbara T. (Murphy) Cronan, 89, of Riverside, died peacefully on February 1, 2017. She was the wife of the late Edward L. Cronan Sr.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Henry and Mary E. (Bryson) Murphy, she was a lifelong resident of Riverside. She was a graduate of East Providence High School Class of 1944.

Mrs. Cronan was a receptionist for the former Dr. John Clancy Dental Office for 20 years before retiring in 1987.

Barbara was a communicant of St. Brendan Church and a member of its Forever Young Club. She was proud of her Irish Heritage.

She is survived by three children, Edward L. Cronan Jr. and his wife Mary-Ellen of East Providence, Mary E. Shadrick and her husband David of East Providence and Kevin J. Cronan and his wife Leslie of Coventry; six grandchildren, Kelley (Mike) Richardson, Dr. David Shadrick Jr. (Meghan) Patrick (Kristy) Cronan, Jarrett (Vanessa) Cronan, Sean and Casey Cronan and ten great grandchildren, Maeve, Maura, Mikey, Liam, Cora, Ava, Grace, Julia, Teigan and McKynlie.

Her funeral will be held on Tuesday February 7, 2017 from the W. Raymond Watson Funeral Home, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:45 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
