Arthur S Mottas, age 90, of St. Cloud, FL and formerly of East Providence died January 28, 2017 at Orlando Regional Medical Center, Cornerstone Hospice. He was the husband of the late Olympia (Cabral) Mottas. Born in Fall River, MA, he was a son of the late Antone and Mary (Souza) Mottas.

Arthur worked as a laborer for Piti Bros. Building Co., in Cranston for 28 years, for ALA Construction Co. He was a member and past president of the Trinity Brotherhood Club, member of the East Providence Lodge of Elks BPOE #2337, the Braga Club, Knights of Columbus, FL and the International Laborers Union 271.

He proudly served our country with the US Navy during WWII and the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by his children; Irene Cooley of Riverside, Carol Cipolla-Rupert of Coventry, Antone Mottas of FL, 3 grandchildren; Manuel Arruda, Christine Cipolla-Scholtz, Gary Cipolla, 2 great grandchildren Skylar Jimenez, Avery Scholtz and his grand pups Rupert and Moe.

He was predeceased by his son Arthur "Mousie" Mottas, Jr. and 6 siblings.

His funeral will begin on Friday at 10am from the Rebello Funeral Home and Crematory, 901 Broadway, East Providence, RI. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11am in St Martha's Church, 2595 Pawtucket Ave., East Providence. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Thursday from 5-8pm.
